The focus for this set of illustrations was untranslatable words: words in other languages that have no direct English translation. I chose three words that I personally liked, and created a hand-drawn illustration to visualise each word. The illustrations were scanned and manipulated in Photoshop to clean them up and create a bold contrast.

Longing for somewhere you've never been.

Mangata:
The road-like reflection of moonlight on water.

Waldeinsamkeit:
The feeling of being alone in the woods.
